TST is a site dedicated to interracial (IR) fiction. Here you can read and write stories with IR themes. The stories on this site range from G to X in rating. The writers here indicate the genre or subject matter of the story being written. We have a story etiquette thread that we ask all writers and reviewers to read before posting. We also have a general discussion forum for members to get any and everything off their chest. Also, in the general discussion forum you can read the latest gossip or check out images of celebrity IR couples.
Please Note: TST is a place that celebrates IR love and relationships, however we do not condone the bashing of black men. It’s okay to vocalize your preference and share your opinions. We want members to express themselves freely and openly. We welcome different opinions and outlooks, but we do ask that you refrain from posting blanket derogatory statements about black men. TST is purely an IR message board but the culture of the board does not include making defaming comments about black men. It’s unnecessary and isn’t tolerated.
The Rules…
All we ask is that you:
* Be courteous
* Respect the opinions of others (you can debate/disagree but please don’t make personal attacks)
* No name calling or flaming
* No hotlinking of graphics, links, etc.
* No Plagiarism
* And please keep graphics/avatars down to 2-3 in signatures. They should be stacked not side-by-side.
The width of banners should not be greater than 500 and the height should be between 400-500. If your banner or avatar isn’t within the guidelines they will be removed by admin without notice. Large banners stretch the board out and make viewing difficult for some members depending on their web browser.
Please do not post stand-alone questions in any of the story areas. The story areas are for writers to post their work. If you have a question that isn’t related to a story listed or you would like to request a story/information please post your inquiries in the “Haven” thread. Thank you!
Posting Video Clips
All video clips and user created images or media should be posted within the Graphics/Fanart/Video section of the board. Note: Images of famous IR couples are posted within the ‘Who has dated/married interracially’ thread located in general discussions.
Self Promotion (Spam)
TST welcomes linking and self-promotion but it must be posted in the appropriate areas. We have a Spam section of the board. It’s located in The Backyard.
*The only exception to this rule is for published authors. Published authors may post release dates for books and other key information in the Book Club section of the board located in The Kitchen.
If you have a web page or message board that specifically deals with IR couples, stories, information, etc… you may apply for affiliation with The Sweetest Taboo. All we ask is that you link our site to yours. Our affiliate buttons are 100 X 50 and the banners are 468 x 60 and located on the About TST section of this site.
Board Purging
TST purges the board of its spectators on a regular basis in an effort to keep the board running efficiently. Simply stated, we delete the accounts of people who have never posted on the board. We understand as a new member you may lurk to gain insight into the culture of the board but keep in mind that after a 90 day period your account could be subject to deletion if inactive. TST defines inactive accounts as accounts with no post (remarks left on the board). Visiting the board everyday but not bothering to leave comments does not count as activity. After a 90 day period, if your account has less than 50 post you can be purged without warning. *This policy affects members of TST who have joined after August 2008.
Posting Stories @ Taboo
Only stories should be posted within the individual writing sections of board. (The writing sections or categories are General Fiction, Daytime Fiction, Movie Fiction, Music Fiction, and Television Fiction.) No stand alone questions or comments should be posted in the above sections. You provide feedback or ask questions within the story thread.
Story Etiquette (ALL WRITERS)
One story pre-thread! Essentially, all chapters of a specific story should be posted in the same thread. Authors can modify the title threads with notices of updates or author notes.
Rate and categorize your material appropriately.
(See TST’s system below) May 2008 TST became an 18 and older message board but we have some minors who joined before the new policy was implemented. We ask that you rate your stories. The minors left on the board are asked not to read or post adult material.

G – No nudity, sex scenes, or scenes of drug use
and/or violence is minimal.
PG or PG/13 – No explicit sex scenes and scenes of drug use

maybe included but they must be at a moderate level;
few or no curse words.
R – violence and/or lots of curse words included.
Sensuous love scenes are explicit and leave nothing
to the imagination but language is not vulgar.
X – violence and/or lots of curse words included.
Love scenes are explicit, leave nothing to the
imagination, and may contain graphic vulgar language. (i.e. when
describing the human anatomy very course terms or
phrases may be used by author ) Subject manner may
be viewed as controversial or taboo.
Genre:
Romance, Action, Comedy, Drama, Thriller, Horror,
Historical, Futuristic/Sci-Fi, Suspense, or
Paranormal.
Category:
Book, TV show, or Movie the story will be based on
and/or some core characters (i.e soap opera couples or movie characters).

This is an optional area. You can summarize plots, set up story lines, or describe core characters in detail.
Writers love feedback – We strongly encourage members to leave feedback for writers. They are taking the time to entertain us, and you will find yourself entertained. These are free reads from upcoming and published writers.
We have GREAT, GREAT talent on TST. Please do them the courtesy of leaving your thoughts. It’s the only payment they crave and rightfully so. It doesn’t matter if it’s a detailed paragraph or just a few words with a thumbs up. It is appreciated.
